Terms & Conditions – ArubaTaxiApp

Welcome to ArubaTaxiApp. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all users of our mobile applications: the Aruba Taxi App (for passengers) and Aruba Taxi Driver App (for licensed taxi drivers). By using either app, you agree to these Terms.
1. About ArubaTaxiApp ArubaTaxiApp is a digital ride-dispatch platform connecting passengers with licensed, independent taxi drivers in Aruba. We do not employ drivers or operate any vehicles.
2. Eligibility
- Passengers must be at least 18 years old.
- Drivers must hold a valid taxi driver’s permit issued by the Aruba DTP and must be approved by ArubaTaxiApp.
3. Ride Requests & Responsibilities
- All fares are negotiated directly with the driver. ArubaTaxiApp is not responsible for fare amounts or overcharging.
- Passengers are advised to ask drivers for fare estimates before entering the vehicle.
- Fare estimates are not provided by the app.
- A $4 USD convenience fee is added to each ride to support app maintenance. This keeps the platform free for drivers.
- All prices shown in the app are in USD.
- Passengers must input the correct number of passengers and luggage items before requesting a ride.
4. Extra Fees & Surcharges Drivers may charge additional fees:
- $2 USD per luggage (non-airport rides).
- $2 USD for trunk usage.
- $3 USD surcharge on Sundays, public holidays, and between 11PM–7AM.
- Waiting time fees may apply.
- Airport rides include 1 piece of luggage + 1 carry-on per passenger in the fare.
5. Cancellations We currently do not have a formal cancellation policy. This will be introduced in the future.
6. Ratings
- Passengers can rate drivers after each trip.
- ArubaTaxiApp does not monitor ratings actively but reserves the right to act on patterns of concern.
7. Driver Requirements Drivers must:
- Hold a valid taxi permit issued by Aruba’s DTP.
- Upload photo ID, vehicle photo, and permit.
- Pass ArubaTaxiApp’s onboarding checks.
We rely on the DTP permit as proof of proper documentation and insurance.
8. Disputes & Complaints
- If a ride was completed, no refund is offered.
- Disputes may be emailed to support@arubataxiapp.com.
- Depending on the issue, we may forward the matter to the local authorities.
9. Platform Misuse & Driver Conduct
- ArubaTaxiApp may suspend or permanently remove drivers or users who breach our guidelines.
- A three-strikes policy may apply for drivers involved in repeated issues.
10. Prohibited Conduct
- Passengers may not use the app while intoxicated.
- No abusive language or inappropriate conduct is tolerated.
11. Payments
- Rides are currently cash only.
- Credit card payments will be available soon.
12. Use of Data
- By using ArubaTaxiApp, you agree to our Privacy Policy, which covers the use of GPS, SMS, camera access, and chat functionality.
13. Third-Party Services Disclaimer ArubaTaxiApp uses services such as Google Maps, Twilio and First Atlantic Commerce. We are not liable for issues arising from these platforms.
14. Jurisdiction These Terms are governed by the laws of Aruba.
15. Updates These Terms may change from time to time. Users will be notified via app or email when changes occur.
